The excitement started as soon as I went out to the workshop — perfect weather to paint the primed units for my Project Table. They’ll be dry tonight — I can move them into the house instead of back in the garage!!
They’re in the same ivory semi-gloss I’ve used for the kitchen & trim [SICO] & will co-ordinate wonderfully with the light oak of the wooden tabletop.
Okay, now I’m excited. These units are the culmination of me trying to set up a work area to create stained glass windows in our ‘chilly’ environment. The glass & tools are moved in — now the workbench will soon move in. 😀
I’d lost a little bit of enthusiasm for DIY over the last few days. Life happens. Rain comes. Work on my headboard is stalled waiting for this table.
I love the look of ivory for trim & cabinets — especially if it has a bit of gloss to it. White is nice & crisp when it’s new — too shabby after a bit of living. In my experience, raising 3 active sons & mega-multiple dogs, ivory is a lot easier to keep clean & all the bumps & bruises of life blend in a lot nicer over time.
I’m quite ready to take a break from designing furniture — I need to design in glass. And I need to turn that vision into a beautiful creation.
First a visit here tomorrow from my middle creation ;-), his lovely partner, & their beautiful, absolutely adorable, first creation. 😀
